The Birth of the Pakistan Airforce came as Royal Pakistan Airforce as a tiny force through the inventory available in British Royal Indian Airforce, established in 1932. Royal Indian Airforce fought 2nd World War as a part of Royal Airforce against the Japanese in Myanmar (Burma), Singapore and other eastern nations which were occupied by the Japanese. The Royal Indian Airforce were led by an English officer, however, they have mainly Indian and polish pilots who did an absolute distinguished job. The Royal Indian Airforce is mainly made up of Hurricane, Typhoon, North American Harward, Tiger moth etc. The Pakistan Airforce born on 14th August 1947 and the assets allocated was 24 Tempest II, 16 Typhoon, 2 Heliphix Bombers and some North American Haward and Tiger Moth on paper. The RPAF received a few of them on the ground. The RPAF entered in Jet age quite early when British Submarine Attackers, joined RPAF. The RPAF slowly increasing its power. The "Royal" prefix was dropped on March 23,1956 when the first constitution was enforced. Although PAF was small as compared to its neighbour, the quality of equipment and training was insured throughout and high technical standards were met. In 1958, US F-86, F-104 and B-57 were introduced. New air combat manoeuvres were introduced and joint training initiated.

1965 War and PAF
Pakistan Air force opened its account with the destruction of four Indian Vampires on 1st September. Thereafter Vampires were withdrawn from the frontline service. Pakistan Airforce planed daring attacks on Indian Airfields in Pathankot, Adampur and other airfields through B-57. Amend these daring attacks, India lost several fighters on the ground. Normally these attacks made in the 4-ship group and had 8 X 500-pound bombs as weapon load. The normal bombing practice was to drop all bomb load once in a single run to avoid damage. in short, during these strikes, the hero from Squadron no. 7 emerged who had a very interesting attack pattern like the lone wolf.
One-Plane shuttle
It is a most fascinating and heartfelt story narrated by the enemy. Indian Airforce Pilot Paddy Earle told the story of the Lagend.
"Once 30 minutes passed after Moonrise, a lonely B-57 showed up on Airfield. He was punctual. He first took one turn of the field and then select the target and drop one Bomb. We, even knew, that he will come, maned our Anti-aircraft guns with the vow to shoot him down but never able to hit him. The pilot while dropping the first bomb, take another pass and drop 2nd bomb. Similarly, he managed to drop bombs on 8 different targets with pinpoint accuracy and flown away. We tried hard to shot him but he had a nasty habit to cut the throttle when gone in drive and after dropping the bomb, he gives full to the engine and flown away. He never missed its target and no bullet ever came near to plane".
He was named as 8- Pass Charlie
Who was 8- pass Charlie?
Story of 8- pass charlie is like a fairy tale in which the prince came in his dark stallion and killed the Jinn to save the princess, but this is a real story of the PAF Pilot. The name of 8-pass charlie is not confirmed however, Squadron leader Najeeb Khan was one of the candidates although he was not known to conduct any night raid. His name is yet to be known. but who over he was, he was the pride of the PAF, daring wolf and reflect of dedication without thinking of personal safety.
PAF is habitual to stun the enemy. right from the beginning, PAF had astonished the world with 16 ship B-57 formation in acrobatic formation. B-57 is considered to be heavier for such displays but the PAF pilot had shown the capabilities and mastership. PAF is truly known as 2nd to NONE.
